Who Can Qualify

Scholarships are available for students entering 1st through 12th grade this September who currently attend—and can provide proof of enrollment at—one of the 17 Philadelphia public schools identified by the City for closure.*

How The Opportunity Knocks Scholarship Works

    Who This Is For?
    Eligibility is limited to students entering 1st through 12th grade who have been impacted by the recent closure of 17 Philadelphia schools. Click “Apply Now” to determine if you qualify.

    Apply Online
    If your child currently attends one of the 17 Philadelphia schools slated for closure, a parent or guardian may apply for a scholarship of up to $8,000 per year, available through high school graduation, to attend a participating private school in Philadelphia.

    What Happens After I Apply?
    Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 500 students who complete all required steps, including eligibility review and school enrollment applications. If your child is eligible, you will receive instructions on how to apply to one of our approved school options.
