How The Opportunity Knocks Scholarship Works

   Who Is This For?

   Eligibility is limited to students entering 1st through 12th grade who have been impacted by the recent closure of 17 Philadelphia schools, listed below:

   2. Fitler Academics Plus
   3. General Louis Wagner Middle
   4. John Welsh Elementary
   5. Lankenau High School
   6. Laura W. Waring School
   7. Overbrook Elementary
   8. Parkway Northwest High
   9. Parkway West High School
   10. Paul Robeson High School
   11. Penn Treaty High School
   12. Robert Morris Elementary
   13. Rudolph Blankenburg School
   14. Samuel Pennypacker School
   15. Stetson Middle School
   16. Warren G. Harding Middle
   17. William T. Tilden Middle

   If your child currently attends one of the 17 Philadelphia schools slated for closure, a parent or guardian may apply for a scholarship of up to $8,000 per year, available through high school graduation, to attend a participating private school in Philadelphia.

   What Happens After I Apply?

   Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 500 students who complete all required steps, including eligibility review and school enrollment applications. If your child is eligible, you will receive instructions on how to apply to one of our approved school options.
